Spectrum Dermatology of Atlanta was founded to focus on the patient experience with the highest quality care combined with the most state of the art techniques. Our founding physicians, Dr. Susan Spitzler and Dr. Emma Murad are passionate and dedicated board-certified dermatologists who bring over 30 years of highly skilled experience into this innovative practice. We pride ourselves on our ability to treat your entire family as we do our own, with the utmost of compassion and attention to detail. Our entire team is focused on the intimate and personal care each of our patients deserves and expects from a practice with the highest standards in Atlanta.
Meet Our Team
Emma Murad, MD
Dr. Emma Murad graduated from Emory University with a degree in Biology and began her career at Emory University department of Biochemistry and Pathology, where her research was published in several major dermatology journals. She later attended Morehouse School of Medicine, completed her internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and returned to Atlanta for her residency at Emory University’s School of Medicine Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Murad is an expert in the field of both medical and cosmetic dermatology. She diagnoses and treats the full array of skin diseases, ranging from skin cancer detection and treatment to cosmetic procedures. She enjoys treating the entire family and getting to know her devoted patients. Every day she feels blessed to work in a field of medicine that she genuinely loves.
Dr. Murad is a board-certified dermatologist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a current member of the Georgia Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery. Dr. Murad resides in Atlanta with her husband and son and enjoys traveling anytime she can.

Susan Spitzler, MD
Dr. Susan Spitzler is originally from New England where she attended Brandeis University for her undergraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience. She obtained her medical degree at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. Dr. Spitzler then completed two years of pediatric residency at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center before finishing her dermatology residency at Emory University.
Dr. Spitzler is one of Atlanta’s elite board-certified dermatologist with over twenty years of dedicated service and experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is an expert in treating children and adults of all ages.
Dr. Spitzler is a board-certified dermatologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a current member of the Georgia Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic surgery. Dr. Spitzler is a strong role model for her three children, two of whom are currently pursuing a career in medicine. She enjoys robust walks and bike rides around her neighborhood.

Laney Hales, PA-C
Laney Hales is a Georgia native. She graduated from Brookwood High School in Lawrenceville and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. She obtained her Master of Medical Science in physician assistant studies from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA.
She enjoys both the relational and hands on aspects of dermatology. In addition to her board certification, she holds a certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in dermatology from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a Diplomate Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, having completed additional training in the specialty of dermatology.
She currently resides in Alpharetta with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys teaching Pure Barre, hiking, reading, and embroidery. She is an avid UGA and Atlanta sports fan.
Danielle Lepori
Licensed Medical Aesthetician
Danielle Lepori was born and raised in New York. She has lived in Georgia for the past twenty years and studied aesthetics and skincare at Paul Mitchel Esani Institute. She brings to Spectrum Dermatology of Atlanta more than a decade of experience performing aesthetic treatments including facials, and eyebrow microblading.
In her free time, she enjoys exercising, being outdoors, cooking and baking, and spending time with friends and family.
